Terms & Conditions
- Health and Safety: the customer is required to ensure the working area which Avon Chimney Sweeps (“ACS”) are working is adequately cleared. If the working area has not been adequately cleared, ACS reserve the right to cancel the works and the customer will be liable for full payment. If asbestos is found within a chimney, work will immediately cease and the works will not be completed until the customer has arranged safe remove of the asbestos.
- Appointment Time: the arranged appointment time is regarded as an estimate of the arrival time within 30 minutes. Issues with preceding jobs and current traffic conditions can have an adverse effect on arrival times. Every effort will be made be made by ACS to maintain the appointment time. If our arrival time is anticipated to be more than 30 minutes after the arranged arrival time, then the customer will be contacted. If this is inconvenient to the customer, rearrangement can be made at no additional cost.
- Parking and Access: ACS require to be able to park safely and legally whilst maintaining access. Should ACS have to pay for parking, then the parking fee will be recharged to the customer.
- Power Supply: the customer is required to provide power for the sweeping or work to be undertaken. This is predominantly for vacuum cleaners but is also reserved for camera inspection and power sweeping drill equipment. If no power supply is available, ACS may continue the works required albeit without any of the equipment described.
- Payment: the customer is required to make payment upon completion of work, and ACS reserves the right to not issue a Chimney Sweep Certificate until payment is made. Payment can be made through invoice via agreement with ACS and the customer. Payment can be made by Cash, Cheque, Contactless Card or BACS transfer.
- Standard of Work: ACS will take all appropriate measures to ensure the property is protected from dirt, debris, soot and equipment. All fireplaces/open fires and stoves will be covered, and walkways will be adequately sheeted. ACS cannot be held responsible in the event of soot escaping protective sheeting.
- Cancellation: should the customer wish to rearrange or cancel their appointment, this should be done as soon as feasibly possible. Should ACS arrive at the property for the agreed appointment and are not required, the customer will be liable for a callout fee of £50.
- Terms and Conditions: The terms and conditions aren’t to be construed to unfairly limit the customers statutory rights. A customer’s acceptance of a quotation/price for works undertaken infers complete acceptance of the terms and conditions outlined.
