1. Carbon Monoxide
Carbon Monoxide, also known as the “Silent Killer” has been known to cause death. The reason is it is colourless, odourless, tasteless and non-irritating.
Excessive build-up of soot and creosote within your chimney or flue pipe can causes blockages and lead to the backup of Carbon Monoxide backfilling your property. A regular sweep with dramatically reduce the likelihood of this occurring.
Here at Avon Chimney Sweeps, we will carry out a Smoke Evacuation Check which allows us to identify any breaches within the chimney stack or liner to stop Carbon Monoxide escaping into your home.

Many people don’t realise this, but it is highly common within most insurance policies to advise a sweep at least once a year. A regular sweep is seen as preventive maintenance on your chimney should anything happen, such as a Chimney Fire.
